We understand FIT students are very busy however, before taking on this role, we do ask you to review your schedule and honestly determine if you have the time and energy to devote to the FITSAB. PRESIDENT

Job Description

The President of the FITSAB is responsible for the following:

  • Report to the SAB Advisor (Department of Student Life Program Coordinator).
  • Meet weekly with the SAB Advisor to ensure campus wide events and Strategic Plan Goal 3 initiatives are being met.
  • Oversee the Executive Board.
  • Lead weekly SAB meetings.
  • Work with the Vice President to create weekly agendas.
  • Attend National Association of Campus Activities Conference (NACA).
  • Oversees program proposals.
  • Co-chair the standing Activities and Programs Committee with the Secretary of Student Affairs.
  • Co-chair the Winter Ball Committee with Vice President.

REQUIREMENTS/RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

  • Must be a matriculated student for at least one academic year before serving
  • Must have a 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Cannot serve on the Executive Board of a FIT Club or Publication
  • Cannot serve as a Resident Assistant or Orientation Leader
  • Preferably has served on the SAB Preferable event planning experience
  • Club/Group leadership experience

VICE PRESIDENT

Job Description

The Vice President of the FITSAB is responsible for the following:

  • Take minutes at the weekly meetings.
  • Meet with the President to create weekly agendas.
  • Track attendance of the FITSAB.
  • Manage the FITSAB email account.
  • Accomplish any other tasks delegated by President.
  • Manage master events calendar.
  • Attend National Association of Campus Activities Conference (NACA).
  • Co-chair the Winter Ball Committee with President.

REQUIREMENTS/RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

  • Must be a matriculated student for at least one academic year before serving
  • Must have a 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Cannot serve on the Executive Board of a FIT Club or Publication
  • Cannot serve as a Resident Assistant or Orientation Leader
  • Preferably has served on the SAB
  • Preferable event planning experience or Club/Group leadership experience

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Job Description

The FITSAB Director of Finance is responsible for:

  • Managing the FITSAB budget.
  • Approving and keeping record of all expenditures and deposits.
  • Signing all requisitions.
  • Attending the National Association of Campus Activities Conference (NACA).

REQUIREMENTS/RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

  • Must be a matriculated student for at least one semester before serving
  • Must have a 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Cannot serve on the Executive Board of a FIT Club or Publication
  • Cannot serve as a Resident Assistant or Orientation Leader
  • Preferable experience working with finances
  • Preferable experience as treasurer of club/group

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

Job Description

The Director of Marketing is responsible for:

  • Maintaining the FITSAB website.
  • Acting as the liaison between the programming chairs and the marketing team.
  • Overseeing the social media manager and the graphic designer.
  • Ensuring all marketing is completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining the FITSAB brand/aesthetic.
  • Acting as the creative director of the FITSAB brand.
  • Attending the National Association of Campus Activities Conference (NACA).

REQUIREMENTS/RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

  • Must be a matriculated student for at least one semester before serving
  • Must have a 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Cannot serve on the Executive Board of a FIT Club or Publication
  • Cannot serve as a Resident Assistant or Orientation Leader
  • Preferable marketing/communication experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Preferable experience working with technology/social media

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

Job Description

The FITSAB Social Media Manager is responsible for:

  • Maintaining the FITSAB’s social media, including the Instagram and Twitter.
  • Maintaining the FITSAB brand/aesthetic.
  • Posting in a timely and consistent fashion.
  • Creating engaging and creative content via our social media.
  • Cultivating FIT community involvement via all social media outlets ie. increasing/maintaining followers, engaging communication via social media.
  • Attending the National Association of Campus Activities Conference (NACA).

REQUIREMENTS/RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

  • Must a matriculated student for at least one semester before serving
  • Must have a 3.0 Cumulative GPA

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Job Description

The FITSAB Graphic Designer is responsible for:

  • Reporting to the Director of Marketing.
  • Designing marketing materials for all FITSAB events.
  • Working closely with The Center Technician to ensure all marketing materials are printed and distributed around campus.
  • Working closely with the Social Media Manager to ensure all advertisements are posted.
  • Maintaining the FITSAB brand/aesthetic.
  • Managing close working relationships with all programming chairs.
  • Attending the National Association of Campus Activities Conference (NACA).

REQUIREMENTS/RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

  • Must a matriculated student for at least one semester before serving
  • Must have a 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Cannot serve on the Executive Board of a FIT Club or Publication
  • Cannot serve as a Resident Assistant or Orientation Leader

  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign

ENTERTAINMENT CHAIR

Job Description

The FITSAB Entertainment Chair is responsible for:

  • Organizing fun and engaging program ideas that promote community on campus.
  • Coordinating the Annual Drag Pageant.
  • Creating strong professional relationships with Performing Vendors.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with FIT clubs and orgs on event collaborations.
  • Attending the National Association of Campus Activities Conference (NACA).

REQUIREMENTS/RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

  • Must be a matriculated student for at least one semester before serving
  • Must have a 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Cannot serve on the Executive Board of a FIT Club or Publication

Job Description

The FITSAB Wellness Chair is responsible for:

  • Planning/coordinating wellness weeks and stress relief weeks.
  • Creating strong connections with the Counseling Center, Health Services and Athletics.
  • Bringing awareness to preexisting campus wellness services.
  • Organizing programs specific to promoting mental, physical and emotional wellness.
  • Attending the National Association of Campus Activities Conference (NACA).

The FITSAB Cultural Chair is responsible for:

  • Organizing events that bring cultural awareness to the campus.
  • Hosting at least one event per month.
  • Serving as the point person for all cultural week/month programs.
  • Working closely with the FITSAB Advisor on all cultural weeks/months of celebration.
  • Attending the National Association of Campus Activities Conference (NACA).

REQUIREMENTS/RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

  • Must be a matriculated student for at least one semester before serving
  • Must have a 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Cannot serve on the Executive Board of a FIT Club or Publication

The FITSAB Professional Development Chair is responsible for:

  • Organizing networking events for the FIT Campus Community.
  • Creating relationships with influential FIT alumni, faculty and staff based on student request/need.
  • Creating relationships with influential professional a myriad of fields.
  • Organizing dynamic professional events catering specific to FIT Students.
  • Arranging various professional development initiatives.
  • Attending the National Association of Campus Activities Conference (NACA).

REQUIREMENTS/RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

  • Must a matriculated student for at least one semester before serving
  • Must have a 3.0 Cumulative GPA

The FITSAB Off Campus Chair is responsible for:

  • Coordinating all events off campus.
  • Coordinating the annual Semi-Formal & managing the Semi Formal committee.
  • Creating strong professional relationships with vendors.
  • Working closely with the FITSAB Advisor to approve contracts.
  • Hosting at least one event per month.
  • Attending the National Association of Campus Activities Conference (NACA).
